Judging by the number of awards its local food producers achieve each year Cumbria must rank amongst the very top regions in the country when seeking out local fine and specialist foods.
Not only is Cumbria rightly famous for its unique sausages and lamb it also boasts some of the most wonderful breads, cakes, cheese, pickles and jams most of which find their way into delightful bijou delicatessen and local farmers' markets.
For the visitor to the county a mouthwatering array of local foods and drinks are available whether from farm shops, cafes, restaurants, or hotels of all sizes.
Visitors to the county should look out for the Made in Cumbria logo to ensure their purchases are locally produced and they are receiving a true taste of this amazing county's food heritage.
